It is very important to treat UTIs, so please don’t be shy and get in touch, we are happy to help 🙏

Common symptoms

If you are needing to pass urine urgently and frequently, if it burns or stings, if you have abdominal pain and/or feel tired or unwell then it is most likely you have a urinary tract infection.

Medical advice

Drink LOTS of water (2-3L/ day) the more fluid you drink, the quicker you will flush the infection out. You might need to take a course of probiotics and sometimes antibiotics, which is usually a 3-day course of trimethoprim or nitrofurantoin and symptoms should improve quite quickly.

Seek urgent help or call 111, if:

  • The symptoms worsen
  • You develop fever or pain in your loin
  • You are pregnant
  • You can see blood on your urine

Prevention tips

Our top tips to prevent it from happening again: always wipe front to back after going to the toilet, urinate after sex, stay hydrated (2L a day), avoid tight clothes.
